Our Bachelor of Communications and Media has been designed to equip students with skills across Marketing, Communications, Branding, Content Creation, Copywriting and Social and Digital Media Strategy This course will set you up for an enriched and creative career in your chosen Industry.

With an elective focus on creative technology, digital marketing, digital design, sports and entertainment management, you will hone the skills needed to think, craft and become an innovative career in your field.

  • HOW DO I APPLY?
    1. Enquire - Submit an enquiry through our website or Book an Appointment 2. Interview - Complete an interview with our Admissions Team. This can be done via. phone appointment, campus tour or open day, 3. Apply - Our Admissions Team will provide you with an application form after your interview. You will need to provide certified copies of the below documents: • passport • high school results • evidence of IELTS or equivalent English language proficiency • details of any further study or professional work experience Documentation must be certified by a notary, a Justice of the Peace, or your agency. 4. Letter of Offer - Successful applicants will be sent a letter of offer via. email. 5. Acceptance - Applicant signs and returns the Letter of Offer accepting their place at ICAT, makes payment of their Initial Tuition Fee and organises Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC). 6. Confirmation – On receipt of the Initial Tuition Fee Payment and evidence of OSHC coverage, ICAT will issue a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE). A CoE is required to apply for a student visa.
  • STUDENT VISA REQUIREMENTS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
    Student visas are administered by the Department of Home Affairs (DHA). For more information, please visit the DHA website. Student (Subclass 500) Visa Conditions + Remain enrolled in a registered course; + Maintain Overseas Student Health Cover (OHSC); + Maintain genuine access to sufficient funds; + Maintain satisfactory attendance in their course and course progress for each study period as required by your education provider; + Notify ICAT of any change in their residential address within 7 days of the change.
  • ADMISSIONS CRITERIA
    The entry requirements for ICAT include qualification equivalent to an Australian Year 12 with the required entry grade, plus English language comparable to Academic IELTS 6.0 with no band less than 5.5. For our Communications and Media course the IELTS band score is 7.0 with no band less than 6.5. Applicants may also be invited to an interview as part of the final application process. Please note that ICAT cannot accept applications from students under the age of 18.
  • CRICOS
    Higher education providers in Australia must be registered to enrol overseas students in specific courses. Registered providers have a CRICOS provider code and a specific CRICOS course code for each course.   • ESOS ACT
    The Australian Government has established a legislative framework to ensure the provision of quality education and to ensure that the rights of international students are protected. This legislation is known as the Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) framework.   • APPROACH TO LEARNING
    We put our students first. Our classes are highly interactive, industry-focused, and are taught by an experienced and supportive team of educators. We have a real-world approach to learning and our teachers are all experts in their chosen field. We limit our class sizes to ensure students receive individualised feedback and support. Students are encouraged to share their opinions and ask and answer questions, which also benefits peers and builds student confidence.
  • ORIENTATION
    We want all of our students to feel at home on campus. New students must attend a Student Orientation Program. As part of our Orientation Program, you will have a tour of the campus, and we will talk about your course, Academic Support, our expectations, and life in Australia.
  • MINIMUM IT REQUIREMENTS
    In order to study at Macleay, you must have access to a laptop, tablet, or similar, and you must have access to the Internet. You will be told about our IT requirements when you enrol.
  • ​INTERNATIONAL SUPPORT
    Our standards of practice and obligations to international students reflect the requirements of the ESOS Act which ensures that overseas students have a safe, enjoyable and rewarding place to study.​​​
  • DEFERMENT, SUSPENSION OR CANCELLATION OF STUDIES
    If ICAT cancels or suspends a student's enrolment, it will notify the student that this decision may affect their visa. ICAT is required to report students to the DHA through the Provider Registration and International Student Management System (PRISMS). The student will then be given 20 working days to access the ICAT internal complaints and appeals process. The suspension or cancellation of enrolment will not take effect until all internal or external appeals are completed, unless extenuating circumstances relating to the welfare of the student apply.

    Australian Government regulations require all international students to have OHSC for the length of their student visa. The current cost for 39 months' coverage is approximately AUD $2532.
